At a recent meeting, Art Welch enthusiastically outlined some of his goals for the coming year. We’re all going to have to take an extra dose of vitamins to keep up with President Art’s program. Get ready, here’s what’s in store: · Increase club membership to 48 by June of 2008. · “Day in the Park” program will include helping out during the Playhouse Bowl summer series. · “The Desert Edge Challenge” has been revived through the efforts of Johnny Russo and will be run on 9/30/07. This includes a 5k and a 10k run; proceeds to benefit Rotary and the San Gorgonio Pass Educational Foundation. Pre-registration (before 9/15/07) is $20 and $25 after that. · Participate in the national Katrina Project. · The international scope remains polio eradication. According to President Art, there are only 5 hot spots around the world. Could this be the year the world is rid of polio? When the phone rings, your email bleeps or Art hands you the chart and asks you to sign up… be ready. We can all go an extra yard to remember the Rotary mantra…. “Service Above Self.”Text Box: ART-fully SpeakingText Box: GOT NEWS? SHARE IT!

San Gorgonio Pass RotaryText Box: What’s In A NameText Box: “Bytes of News” is a working title for our Rotary newsletter. Who knows… it could be a keeper. Then again, with all the clever minds in this club, we could come up with a real winner. Here’s the chance of a lifetime… no pay, some brain stimulation and the opportunity to help our Club stand out from the crowd.
