My Rates...
"How do you arrive at your rates," I am often asked by associates and potential clients. Life is not a one-size-fits all and neither is putting a dollar amount on your time and talent.
Here's my favorite, of late. A potential client asked me what I charged for writing/public relations by the hour. Since the recession, I've kept it @ $100. an hour... which I told him. "Seems like a lot," he said. I estimated the job in question would take two hours. I quickly replied. "Oops... that would be $25 an hour and it will take me 8 hours."
"That's better," he said, as he wrote me a check! Go figure.
