I had just picked up my friend Pat to take her to a phone store in Beaumont from our home at Sun Lakes Country Club in Banning. I had been bugging Pat because she had left her cell phone at a daughter's home. We never made it. Pat commented that her right arm was numb; then her right leg was becoming numb. I pulled into a parking lot, went around to her side, took a look at her, got back into the car and drove to Urgent Care. She soon was in an ambulance on her way to the Emergency Room at San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital. Pat had suffered a stroke. Timing meant everything, and in this case…
