Advertising or public relations?

You pay for advertising. Therefore, you can say anything within reason? (That's what is legal vs. what is tasteful. To date, there are no "taste police" overseeing what is advertised in the media!)  Public Relations is earned. A good story, a nice community beneficial deed gets in the press quicker, if properly outlined and promoted.

  • Chamber Membership Brochure
  • Carol's Kitchen (http://carolskitcheninc.org/index.html) has been feeding the hungry in the San Gorgonio Pass for the past 15 years. Nobody is turned away.    In order to move forward, Carol's Kitchen (a 501 (c) 3) organization requires a steady stream of  volunteers coupled with growing financial partners who "get in" and are willing and to be involved and  committed for the long and short term.
  • Beaumont Cherry Valley Parks and Recreation District. Writing Solutions aligned with Hughes & Co., Public Relations for this project. It was a joy! With the cooperation of the district board and particularly the general manager , our creative juices were set free. We created the Canine Country Club with words, graphics and enthusiasm. Not only was the opening a huge success; we felt great about being able to help bring the community something it desired. While the budget covered many items, not one "ad" was paid for. The enthusiasm was generated before the event and the reporting followed after the successful opening. See story.
  • Banning Unified School District. We helped bring city and school district together in a collaborative program for a special event. The "recycling wranglers" were so successful, they are being asked to participate in community events. This is a good example of making public relations work. See story.
  • Media Hints. We created this for a school district.
  • City of Banning, CA. We created a logo and a newsletter to be distributed through the mail, available online and at various city locations.  When produced and distributed in a timely manner it is a source of information for businesses and residents. It was designed to also serve as an ongoing public relations message. Click here for sample.
  • While preferring to be behind the scenes, sometimes the rolls get reversed. Click for newspaper article.
  • Jim Smith does more than conduct business in Banning; he participates in- and makes the community a better place to live, work and play. Click here for a sample.
