It’s Christmas … HELP!

 My parents had an interesting gift giving concept: Dad would give mom cigars and mom would give dad lingerie. After the exchange, they were both happy! In this season of giving, here are some of our thoughts:

  • (For a couple) A SPA. There’s installing one at the homestead or pampering each other at a desert venue… the cost should be about the same.
  • GOLD. Be it nuggets, bracelets, necklaces or earrings. If it’s not your taste, melt it down and start all over.
  • Hey men, buy your favorite woman her very OWN golf clubs. It’s about time she didn’t get your hand-me-downs.
  • Anything from Nike.
  • Bluetooth Technology. The up and coming for anyone interested in wireless technology.
  • U.S. Savings Bond. Not the greatest interest rate in the world (not much is today) but $25 buys the recipient $50 in the future. Something to look forward to.
  • Warm gloves. Can’t have too many.
  • Same goes for warm up suits and sweats.
  • A gift certificate to: Sharper Image, FAO Schwartz, and Sunset Auto Plaza. These gifts keep giving.
  • A round of golf in the Coachella Valley. Valid July-September only! (Costs vary. During the summer- under $50. During the season, around $175!)
  • Extended warranty for: car, house, electronics, and appliances.
  • Take a moment to say something special to a person you care about.  
  • CASH. Never gets returned... even by the greediest of souls.

TIPS IN GENERAL

Tis the season to be… careful. Whether you are traveling by land, sea or air, take some extra time during the holiday season. More people are on the go. If it’s before Christmas, people are toting packages to their destinations. For the return trip, there will be different folks toting the goods. Please have a safe, healthy and happy holiday season.

R                 Leave lots of extra of time.

R                 Leaving the country? Convert some money before departure.

R                 Have current maps or check www.mapquest.com or other Internet travel sites.

R                 Going to snow country (on purpose) – have chains or snow tires.
